FACTORY MANAGER - FMCG
Job Description
- Plan and manage daily production to meet demand and delivery schedules.
- Lead production teams, manage shift operations, and develop staff capabilities.
- Optimise manpower, machinery, and materials to improve productivity and control costs.
- Coordinate with procurement, stores, quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, workplace safety, hygiene, and applicable manufacturing requirements.
- Reduce production waste, downtime, and product defects through continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report production performance, costs, and operational issues to management.
Prerequisites
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of FMCG manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of high-volume production, production planning, quality assurance, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding production schedules.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems would be an advantage.
- Ability to work in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
