EL - TORO Roofing Products Limited has set up its state-of-the-art production facility in Chilaw. The following vacancy exist at our factory for suitable qualified & experienced person to take over the responsibilities as Factory Accountant.
Factory Accountant - Chilaw
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly factory financial and manufacturing performance reports.
- Monitor production costs, material consumption, labor, overheads, and variances against standards; recommend corrective action.
- Manage standard and actual product costing for new and existing products, including regular cost card updates.
- Assist in product pricing for local and export market
- Assess and strengthen factory internal control systems by identifying control gaps, mitigating risks, and implementing effective controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
- Support budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Capital expenditure monitoring and asset management.
- Coordinate factory month-end and year-end closing, physical inventory counts, and internal and external audit requirements.
- Design, implement, and monitor factory SOPs, ERP systems, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee factory insurance through different risk categories, including coverage adequacy, risk assessments, handling claims
- Review and authorize payments, local invoices, goods transfers and petty cash
- Facilitate logistics to local and export customers as per company policies
- Support cadre assessments, departmental KPIs as the factory accounts representative.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement and Stores teams to improve financial performance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Full or part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA or CMA.
- 10+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management
- Hands on experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Age below 45 years
