Laboratory Technician
Lindel Industrial Laboratories Limited (LILL), was set up to provide scientific laboratory service to test and analyse liquid effluents, solid waste and gaseous effluents emanating from industries; Environmental monitoring, Food and microbiology testing, detergent and cosmetic analysis, fertilizer testing and other related analytical testing.
The Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lanka Industrial Estates Ltd. (LIND EL) in turn is the first industrial estate owned and managed by the private sector, a joint venture between the DFCC Bank PLC (DFCC) and the Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL).
We are looking for a motivated and qualified Laboratory Technician to support our laboratory operations and contribute to the development and growth of our laboratory services.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University with Chemistry as a principal subject.
Additional Qualifications
- Microbiology or Food science as a subject.
You will be mainly responsible for the following –
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses according to established procedures and standards
- Collect, receive, label, prepare, and process samples for laboratory testing
- Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Prepare laboratory reagents, solutions, and testing materials as required
- Record, analyze, verify, and report test results accurately and on time
- Maintain proper laboratory records, documentation and reports
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene within the laboratory.
- Monitor laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables, and report shortages when necessary
- Assist in quality control activities, equipment calibration, and method validation.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of samples, chemicals, and laboratory waste
- Support internal and external audits and comply with laboratory quality management systems.
- Work collaboratively with other laboratory staff and relevant departments to ensure smooth laboratory operations
- Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Laboratory Manager or Supervisor
