Health & Safety Officer

Job Profile

  • Ensure compliance with hospital health, safety, fire safety and regulatory requirements through effective implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement and supervise fire safety plans, emergency response procedures and evacuation plans to safeguard patients, staff, visitors and hospital property.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, fire risk assessments and workplace audits while implementing appropriate corrective and preventive control measures.
  • Monitor, maintain and ensure all fire and life safety equipment are functional, properly positioned and compliant with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate fire drills, safety training and awareness programs while working closely with external fire authorities and emergency services to strengthen emergency preparedness and response.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and safety concerns, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to enhance workplace safety culture across clinical and non-clinical teams.

Candidate Profile

  • Diploma in Health & Safety, Engineering & Fire Safety/ PG Diploma in fire safety or environment management from a recognized University / Institution or equivalent qualification.
  • Good knowledge of current fire suppression, firefighting techniques including all related equipment, fire records systems, communications equipment and use and fire reporting procedures.
  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices involved in emergency medical services will be an added advantage.
  • An individual with minimum 01 year of experience in health and safety, quality management systems in a hospital environment or equivalent.
  • Energetic candidate with excellent IT skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and demonstration skills.
