Responsibilities / Core Functions:

  • Assist in designing and implementation of project Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) plan and tool in line with the broader Technical Program objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate quantitative and qualitative data collection from the field and ensure that all project indicators are tracked in a database on a regular basis in the project framework.
  • Execute periodic monitoring field visits and ensure the data quality and support implementation of results-based project monitoring.
  • Contribute to the annual and donor reporting process with insights supported by evidence.
  • Assist program team designing and developing project proposals by providing updated information, successful stories and developing results.
  • Ensure all M & E activities comply with donor and KFHI standards.
  • Assist in maintaining knowledge databases and learning resources.
  • Actively participate in capacity-building initiatives and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in monitoring, evaluation, and accountability practices.
  • Review evidence and data gathered from the project with recommendations, outcomes and lessons learnt.
  • Uphold KFHI standards related to humanitarian assistance, child safeguarding, gender, and accountability among stakeholders.
  • Behave and demonstrates high level of courtesy, honesty, encourages openness and transparency.
  • Assist in the analysis and interpretation of monitoring data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement in project implementation. Collaborate with the project team to develop HQ M&E tools and recommendations based on the findings.
  • Support the integration of accountability mechanisms into project activities, such as feedback and complaint mechanisms, to ensure the voices of beneficiaries and communities are heard and addressed.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/development management/agriculture/international development or relevant field with minimum of 3 years’ experience in M & E and experience in a donor funded project is preferable with minimum of 3 years’ experience in Community Development or
  • Diploma in social sciences/development management/agriculture/international development or relevant field with minimum of 5 years’ experience in M & E and experience in a donor funded project is preferable with minimum of 5 years’ experience in Community Development.
  • Proven report writing skills.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs and other statistical packages.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills in English, Tamil & Sinhala fluency in all three languages is advantageous.
  • Experience in liaising with various project stakeholders, including government interlocutors, private sector, civil society organizations and for partnerships.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as in an independent manner and organize the workflow efficiently within a limited time period.
  • Experience working with local communities and having cultural sensitivity.
  • The position requires field visits and a willingness to travel to UVA province as and when required.
  • Valid Driving License for Light Vehicle with Motorbike.
  • Residency in Welimada, Nuwara Eliya, Bandarawella or Badulla is preferred.
  • Age 25 – 40 years.

Employment Terms:

  • A probation period of 3 months with 90% of the full salary paid during this period.
  • One-year contract and it is renewable.
