Credit Controller

Location: Colombo 02

We are looking for a Credit Controller for our FMCG Sector, overseeing General Trade, Institutional Sales, and Modern Trade channels. As a leader in Credit Control, you will manage a dedicated team, ensuring debtors management as per the Credit Control SOPs adopted by the Group and ensure that all dues are collected on time to run the business smoothly, improve company cash flow and enhance financial efficiency. You will be joining a team of experienced professionals in Financial Management and will pave your way for a mutually beneficial career within the Group. This position is based at our head office situated in Colombo 02.

Key job functions;

  • Follow up of trade related debtors, ensure timely completeness of collections, follow up nominated distributors returned cheques and initiate required actions.
  • Monitor Credit Limits and required actions
  • Coordination & follow up with Sales Administration/Warehouse/Legal divisions in executing SOPs.
  • Contact Modern Trade channels with outstanding invoices to ensure prompt payments.
  • Monitor the General Trade/Modern Trade Credit limit enhancement process, when required.
  • Implement credit corrections approvals in ERP.
  • Management of bank guarantees and ensure timely renewals keeping with SOPs.
  • Preparation and circulation of weekly/monthly MIS reports on Debtors.
  • Recommend dealer termination as per the SOPs.
  • Management of new customer account set up.

The ideal candidate should possess;

  • Full or Part qualified in Credit Management/Accounting qualifications.
  • Minimum 04 years experience in managing a credit portfolio of an FMCG/Manufacturing company/Group at a similar level.
  • Understanding and knowledge of policies and regulations relating to granting and managing of a credit portfolio.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, ERP systems is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and ability to demonstrate positive attitude drive and Initiative.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
