Senior Software Engineer - Report Program Generator (RPG)

Job Role:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving business needs.
- Own the technical design, code reviews, and system stability while supporting risk management practices.
- Drive projects and enhancements from concept to completion, ensuring robust technical documentation.
- Proactively address production issues and provide hands-on technical support.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the team.
- Keep senior management informed with regular project updates.
Job Specification:
- BSc Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an RPG Programmer/Analyst.
- Expertise in RPGL (all forms including free form and embedded SQL), CLLE, DDL, DDS, and Subfile processing.
- Proficient with iSeries tools and AS/400 environment.
- Strong knowledge of Query 400 and relational databases (DB2 on AS/400).
- Experience in maintaining, supporting, and enhancing existing systems.
- Exposure to development tools like Jira, ALDON, and Visual Studio Code is a plus.
- Experience with financial systems (Core Banking, Card systems, SWIFT, Trade Finance, Treasury) will be highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with both Waterfall and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
