The Person We Are Looking For..
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person of good character with professional qualifications, ethics and with outstanding communication skills for the post of Assistant Manager - Procurement & Shipping to achieve departmental goals and targets. The successful candidate will report to the Procurement & Shipping Manager and be responsible for tasks optimizing the productivity of the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Responsible for adhering to Government procurement manual when purchasing goods and services while maintaining timely targets in Procurement & Shipping Department to ensure smooth operations of Supply Chain Management.
- Manage & coordinate all aspects of procurement & shipping activities cost effectively and efficiently in order to realize departmental & company goals.
- Manage and review all records of purchased goods including the costs, deliveries and inventories.
- Preparation of Board papers to obtain relevant approval from the respective authorities.
- Organizing & moderating the JPC (Junior procurement committee), DPC (Department procurement committee), and MPC (Ministry procurement committee) meetings.
- Monitoring and following up on sea and air freight clearances and deliveries.
- Coordinating with line ministries and authorities related to procurement and shipping activities.
- Facilitating and moderating the sample evaluations.
- Conduct practical researches to ascertain the best products & suppliers in terms of best Value, on time delivery schedules & quality.
- Monitor Procurement Time Schedule (PTS) to complete the bidding process on time.
- Ensure all the purchasing transactions are updated with all the required supporting documents.
- Follow up import orders with the respective foreign suppliers to ensure that the items ordered are received without delay within the stipulated period of time.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Having Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management / MBA / CIMA / CASL / IT or any other similar qualification.
- 03 years or more experience in Executive Capacity.
- Certified in Supply Chain Professional Institute.
- Credit Passes for English and Mathematics for G.C.E. (O/L) and G.C.E. (A/L) qualification.
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and procurement strategies.
- Excellent Leadership Skills, Strong Negotiation Skills, Problem Solving Ability and Analytical Skills.
- High Level of IT Literacy including sound knowledge of MS Office, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Sound planning and organizing skills coupled with a methodical approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
