Job Description

GFF REPRESENTATIVE SRI LANKA

ABOUT THE GLENN FAMILY FOUNDATION

The Glenn Family Foundation (GFF) was formed in the 1980’s by entrepreneur and renowned philanthropist, Sir Owen G. Glenn. The Foundation supports charities, institutions and individuals around the globe in the upliftment of communities and alleviation of suffering. The philosophy of its founder is in offering a hand up, not a hand out, and in so building communities that are empowered, self-sustaining and proud. This Foundation is currently supporting projects across four countries in Asia (Sri Lanka, India, Nepal and Philippines).

Since 2018, GFF has implemented the HELPS programme in Sri Lanka for the past 5 years. We recruit GFF Representatives to volunteer and enrich these communities through the HELPS framework - Health, Education, Livelihood, Personal and Professional development, and Skills sharing. Our representatives are immersed in these communities to listen and understand the need to develop sustainable projects.

We are looking for one new GFF Representative to start their term in June 2025. As a GFF Representative, you will work in a small team with another Representative and International Advisor (Tharaka Munidasa), alongside an established and reputable organisation, for a minimum period of 6-12 months, developing projects across Sri Lanka. The primary focus will be on supporting a new initiative named Project Roots. You will be supervised weekly by GFF over Zoom / Skype / MS Teams / WhatsApp and will be collaborating with the wider international team.

As gratitude for your service, GFF provides a remuneration that covers your living and reasonable daily expenses during your volunteering placement (e.g. accommodation (if you have relocated - remote visits), data, food, transport, communication, insurance (medical & life!)).

If you are passionate about making a sustainable impact and empowering underprivileged communities to thrive then please apply and get in touch with us!
