Handicap International Federation (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, created in 1982, working across 63 countries. HI Sri Lanka is a part of a Regional Programme where in the region, HI's interventions include physical rehabilitation, inclusive education, inclusive disaster risk reduction, inclusive economic empowerment, road safety, and inclusive local development.

The programme invites applications from competent Sri Lankan nationals for the following position:

1. Logistics Officer (Casual Basis) – 1 Position

Logistics Officer will be responsible to support the procurement, facility management and other logistics activities. For archiving management, casual Logistics officer will support the team in listing of the documents and organizing of those documents in a systematic manner, maintaining the HI global archive management Procedure.

Terms & Conditions:

  • Fixed Term Casual Contract (on call/hourly/daily/ monthly basis) for 6 Months
  • The person could be required to do the official duty on weekends/ festival holidays or any time during the regular working day as per the need of the organization

Location:

Country Office, Colombo, Sri Lanka

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Physically visit the supplier's premises to assess the supplier and collect quotation
  • Data input in SBA for analysis of the tender, quotation, and financial & technical proposal
  • Photocopy, scan, and archive the logistics documents
  • Bill/Invoice settlement
  • Explore potential vendors and update the supplier database
  • To conduct physical verification of the vendor's facility
  • Support purchase documentation and close the purchase file
  • Support premises management-related activities
  • Listing of documents with the support of the respective department focal for archiving
  • Support to organize and prepare the archiving boxes with proper labelling
  • Archiving the files with the guidance of Logistics Department
  • Any other logistics task assigned by the supervisor

Deliverable/s:

  • Weekly and Monthly Activity report
  • Date input in SBA, Documentation and Purchase file closing
  • Bill/Invoice settlement
  • Archiving of documents and Archiving List

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration / Business Studies / Commerce / Management / Logistics / Supply Chain Management or any other relevant disciplines or candidates waiting for final semester result may also apply
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, facility management activities, or the supply chain field
  • Good Inter-personal communication skills in both Sinhala and English
  • Must be excellent in MS Excel, Word & E-mail communication, data analysis package
  • Autonomous, organized and adaptable
  • Solution oriented, problem-solving skill
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadline oriented
  • Willing to travel to field as and when required
