Production Manager – Plant Tissue Culture
Career Level: Executive Grade
Job Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (potential to become permanent)
Are you an experienced leader in plant tissue culture production? Join our dynamic team as a Production Manager and play a vital role in driving efficiency, maintaining high standards, and leading a team in cutting-edge micropropagation techniques.
This position is key to ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory, overseeing all stages of tissue culture production, and supporting a high-quality, export-oriented pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production processes to meet forecasted targets.
- Train and supervise staff through all stages of micropropagation: initiation, multiplication, rooting, and acclimatization.
- Ensure adherence to protocols and consultant guidelines for tissue culture methodologies.
- Maintain production quality to meet customer expectations.
- Oversee lab equipment maintenance, including laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, and other critical tools.
- Ensure an aseptic and controlled environment for optimal tissue culture conditions.
- Collaborate closely with Nursery, Sales, and Administration teams.
- Provide daily, monthly and annual production reports on progress to management.
Job Requirements
Education: BSc in Agriculture, Biotechnology, Horticulture, Plant Biology, Plant Science, Botany, or a related field.
Experience
- Prior experience in an export-oriented plant tissue culture laboratory.
- Hands-on expertise in all stages of micropropagation, media preparation, and acclimatization.
- Minimum 3 years in a management role within a commercial tissue culture lab.

Salary
