PROCUREMENT EXECUTIVE
Peace Lily Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a leading factory in Buttala, Sri Lanka, specializes in manufacturing and exporting high-quality natural latex mattresses and organic bedding products to Australia, New Zealand, and the US. As part of our expansion, we are constructing a new factory building and managing day-to-day company operations. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to oversee the procurement of both construction materials for our new building, as well as manufacturing and raw materials essential for the company’s operations. This role will involve negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement strategies, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. Role Overview:
As a Procurement Executive, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for both the construction of our new building and the ongoing purchasing requirements of the company, including raw materials and manufacturing processes. This includes sourcing construction materials, manufacturing materials, and raw materials, negotiating with suppliers, purchasing office supplies, equipment, and other materials needed for day-to-day operations, and ensuring everything is delivered on time and within budget. Additionally, you will contribute to procurement by conducting market price evaluations and providing recommendations for rubber collection pricing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers for construction materials, including raw materials, equipment, specialized construction products, as well as manufacturing materials and raw materials essential for production, day-to-day company operation.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable deals.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project & business operations timelines and milestones.
- Collaborate with the other departments to understand material requirements and procurement schedules.
- Manage the company’s purchasing needs for office supplies, equipment, and other business-related materials.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and transactions related to both construction and operational requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to material delivery, quality, or pricing.
- Conduct market research to identify new sourcing opportunities and trends, both in construction and general procurement.
- Contribute to rubber-related procurement by conducting market price evaluations and providing recommendations for rubber collection pricing.
- Work closely with internal departments to understand their procurement needs and priorities for day-to-day operations.
- Ensure that procurement activities align with the company’s budget, goals, and business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience of 3-5 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a focus on both construction materials and general business procurement.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement processes simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of construction material sourcing, procurement processes, and general business purchasing.
