VENDOR RELATIONS MANAGER

We are an international company operating in a fast-paced, dynamic industry with offices across the Asia-Pacific region. Currently seeking an experienced and motivated Vendor Relations Manager to join our team in Sri Lanka. In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing strong relationships with international companies that supply globally recognized brands. You will oversee key account management, drive product category growth, and negotiate effectively with foreign principals to secure the best terms and optimize vendor performance. The key product categories we focus on are: Skincare, Cosmetics, Fragrances, Fashion, Electronics, Liquor and Tobacco.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with business goals and high-performance standards.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with international suppliers to achieve optimal value and service levels.
  • Manage key accounts, focusing on strengthening partnerships and driving growth within strategic product categories.
  • Oversee product category management, identifying opportunities to expand assortments and enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations, from procurement to distribution.
  • Conduct market research and performance analysis to identify trends and improve vendor product offerings.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively with vendors at various levels.
  • Proven ability to manage key accounts and product categories with a strategic approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive role within the retail industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in high-level interpersonal interactions, with the ability to engage effectively with international vendors and stakeholders.
  • Previous exposure to international markets and working with foreign principals is highly desirable.
  • Age below 35 years.
