JOB DESCRIPTION:
To lead, manage, and expand the general trade sales operations of school book products within the assigned region by developing strategic relationships with schools, bookstores, educational institutions, and distributors, ensuring achievement of sales targets and growth objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in the education or publishing sector.
- Proven track record in sales leadership and achieving targets.
- Experience working with schools and understanding the education market is highly preferred.
- Diploma or Certificate in Sales/Marketing/Business Management – from a recognized institute (SLIM, NIBM, or other vocational/business schools).
- Creative thinker and data-driven.
- Proven track record of project management and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Sinhala.
- Great leadership skills.
- Below 35 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with target audiences and build and develop customer relationships.
- Develop and execute a region specific sales plan to meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Monitor sales performance metrics; analyze variances and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities: schools, education authorities, private tutoring centers, and wholesale book sellers.
- Map territory potential and prioritize high growth accounts.
- Build long term relationships with school principals, bookstores, and teacher associations.
- Serve as the key escalation point for customer issues, ensuring swift resolution and high satisfaction.
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence briefs.
- Work closely with Marketing to localize campaigns, promotions, and educational events.
