Job Description
Job Profile:
- Analyze and evaluate credit risk for new and existing customers using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigate credit risk exposure of the Company
- Support the Credit Department in providing guidance, mentorship and support in the assessment and management of credit risk
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance, identifying trends and potential areas of concern
- Conduct periodic review of credit limits, risk classifications and credit terms
- Collaborate with other departments, including Finance, Compliance, Credit and Recoveries to optimize credit risk management process and procedures
- Develop and maintain key credit risk metrics/models and indicators, including scoring systems
- Prepare detailed credit risk analysis reports and presentations for stakeholders and management
- Recommend and implement strategies to mitigate credit risk while supporting business growth objectives
Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 years of comprehensive experience in credit risk management, with at least 5 years dedicated to the financial services industry, directly involved in the preparation and evaluation of credit proposals in the business lines and as a credit reviewer within the financial service industry.
- Should have a good understanding of various risk factors involved in loan and lease disbursements.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound risk management decisions.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing credit risk policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements and industry best practices in credit risk management.
- A degree in Finance, Banking, or a full qualification in Banking, Diploma in Credit Management, or a professional certification. MBA would be an added advantage.
