Commi Chef 1 - Indian Cuisine
We are in search for energetic individuals for our reputed client company (five star hotel) based in Colombo.
Requirements:
- Assist senior chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting traditional and contemporary Indian dishes.
- Ensure all food preparation meets the hotel’s quality standards and recipes.
- Follow food safety, HACCP, and sanitation guidelines strictly.
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation.
- Properly store and label ingredients and supplies to avoid spoilage and wastage.
- Support the team during high-volume service and contribute to kitchen efficiency.
- Take the initiative in learning and improving culinary techniques under the guidance of senior chefs.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in Indian cuisine and a 5-star hotel environment.
- Basic knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and regional dishes.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and kitchen organization.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
