PROJECT MANAGER - CIVIL ENGINEERING (On Fixed Term Contract basis)
Job Profile
The ideal candidate needs to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes appropriate organization resource utilization and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to the plan.
Main responsibilities of the job include:
- Manage the overall planning, coordination, and control of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget constraints, and that the required quality standards are maintained.
- Liase with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure that all aspects of the project are clearly understood and completed to the required standards.
- Lead the entire team, including subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet the required standards and project milestones.
- Prepare project budgets and schedules to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress to anticipate and identify issues, addressing them prudently.
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are met on-site, that company procedures and policies are followed, and that sustainability targets are achieved.
- Manage project risks and opportunities, ensuring the project is delivered in alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure all project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, is accurate, up to date, and appropriately stored.
- Produce project reports to be presented to management on a periodic basis, as agreed, and report on project progress and performance.
- Support all quality control requirements through coordination of benchmarks and liaison with the workforce and stakeholders.
- Prepare internal RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety) documents and review those submitted by subcontractors.
- Support the Quantity Surveyor (QS) with project information and manage overall project functions.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent with at least 05 years of work experience.
- Possess a professional qualification in Project Management.
- Over 05 Years experience in:
- Handling occupational safety, environmental and related regulatory standards to meet national/international standards.
- Managing projects and proven project management skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to manage a skilled workforce including contractors.
- Ability to work under demanding conditions and get optimum output from available resources to ensure continuous reliability.
- A high degree of computer literacy and proficient in MS Office package.
- Negotiation skills.
