Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of monthly and quarterly management accounts (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet).
- Review all invoices, payments, and receipts to ensure adherence to company policies.
- Manage company’s excess funds and coordinate with banks for investment options.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits by delegating and facilitating tasks.
- Handle timely payments and filing of tax returns (Income Tax, VAT, ESC, NBT, WHT, Stamp Duty) via RAMIS or manually.
- Consolidate annual financial statements in compliance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards.
- Prepare both operational and non-operational budgets for the upcoming financial year.
- Monitor and manage customer incentives and business promotional expenses as per company policy.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register and ERP system accurately.
- Conduct quarterly stock verifications to ensure asset accountability.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports and payments to regulatory bodies (PUCSL, Ministry, Import/Export Dept., etc.).
- Maintain and report on strategic objectives, risk register, and KPI achievements.
- Review and sign off on payment vouchers, journal entries, and company receipts.
- Assist the Finance Manager in team management, performance monitoring, and training.
- Support costing and pricing of products by providing accurate financial inputs.
Skills and Experience Required
- BSc in Accounting or a professional qualification such as CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, ACCA, or any other recognized finance/accounting credential.
- 5–6 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing or lubricant sector.
- Proven audit experience and solid understanding of financial compliance.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems will be an added advantage.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
