Executive - Learning and Development (Head Office)

Berendina is a group of companies consisting of Berendina Micro Investments Company Limited (BMIC), the first licensed microfinance company (LMFC) regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, under the Microfinance Act No 06 of 2016, and Berendina Development Services (Gte) Limited (BDS), a leading development organization committed towards alleviating poverty among vulnerable and marginalized communities of rural and plantation areas in Sri Lanka. Berendina group operates in 13 districts through a network of 38 branch offices.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support to arrange comprehensive Training Needs Assessments (TNA) to identify skill gaps and training requirements across departments.
  • Assist to design, develop, and implement annual training and development plans aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Organize and coordinate technical, soft skills, and compliance training programs for staff at all levels.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Maintain accurate training records, reports, and documentation in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with department heads and branch managers to ensure training initiatives meet operational needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest training methodologies and tools to enhance the learning experience.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A Diploma or relevant professional qualification in Training and Development from SLITD, CIPM, or any other recognized institution.
  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience in training and development, preferably within the microfinance or financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala; proficiency in Tamil is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to branches across the island.
