ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as Project Manager for an island-wide health training programme implemented in collaboration with national stakeholders. This is a key leadership position responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and delivery of the programme.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide overall leadership and management of the project.
- Coordinate and supervise implementation of all project activities and training programmes.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Coordinating Committee, Technical Committee, and relevant consultants.
- Ensure quality implementation and monitoring of field activities.
- Supervise field teams and oversee timely delivery of project outputs.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
- Oversee project finance planning and budget monitoring.
- Ensure timely achievement of project objectives and fulfilment of reporting requirements.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership and project governance.
- Strong project management, reporting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Experience working with UN agencies and government institutions is an advantage.
- Excellent presentation and report writing abilities.
- Proven experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Excellent command of English and Sinhala; proficiency in Tamil is an advantage.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or Developmental Studies.
- At least 5 years of experience in project management.
- At least 2 years of experience managing high-intensity, national-level projects.
- Experience in health education or community engagement projects is an advantage.
