ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as Project Manager for an island-wide health training programme implemented in collaboration with national stakeholders. This is a key leadership position responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and delivery of the programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide overall leadership and management of the project.
  • Coordinate and supervise implementation of all project activities and training programmes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the Coordinating Committee, Technical Committee, and relevant consultants.
  • Ensure quality implementation and monitoring of field activities.
  • Supervise field teams and oversee timely delivery of project outputs.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Oversee project finance planning and budget monitoring.
  • Ensure timely achievement of project objectives and fulfilment of reporting requirements.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership and project governance.
  • Strong project management, reporting, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience working with UN agencies and government institutions is an advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and report writing abilities.
  • Proven experience in project monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English and Sinhala; proficiency in Tamil is an advantage.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualifications in Business Administration, Project Management, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or Developmental Studies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing high-intensity, national-level projects.
  • Experience in health education or community engagement projects is an advantage.
