Production Engineer

The Production Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and cost effectiveness. This role plays a key part in supporting new product introductions (NPI), improving productivity, and maintaining high production standards.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • NPI & Production Readiness – Lead and support new product introductions in production by ensuring readiness of manpower, machines, tools, and processes in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • Process Optimization – Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and achieve cost efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance – Develop and implement quality control measures and drive corrective and preventive actions for non-conformities.
  • Continuous Improvement – Drive Lean, Six Sigma Kaizen, and 5S initiatives to improve operational performance and efficiency.
  • Technical Problem Solving – Identify and resolve production and technical issues related to processes, materials, suppliers, and customers.
  • KPI Management – Monitor production KPIs and implement effective systems to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
  • Health & Safety Compliance – Promote and maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to all safety regulations.

Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar engineering role, in wire harness, automotive, or electronics manufacturing (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, line balancing, and process flow
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as FMEA, root cause analysis, and control plans
  • Knowledge of relevant standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a data driven approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across functions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results under pressure
