Role Overview
To strengthen our financial risk management framework and optimize cash flow, we are seeking a highly analytical, principled, and detail-oriented Credit Evaluation and Approval Officer to join our finance team at the Head Office in Nawala.
The ideal candidate will protect the organization's financial health by diligently assessing customer creditworthiness, overseeing strict credit limits, monitoring aging debtors, and upholding rigorous governance in our credit control operations.
Responsibilities
- Credit Evaluation: Conduct thorough financial assessments and background checks on prospective dealers, distributors, and corporate clients to determine credit risk.
- Approval & Limit Management: Evaluate, recommend, and process credit limits and payment terms in strict compliance with corporate credit policies and approval matrices.
- Risk Monitoring & Reporting: Continuously monitor outstanding balances, identify high-risk accounts, and prepare comprehensive aging debtor and credit risk reports for the Manager Finance.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all credit files are complete, fully documented, and strictly adhere to internal control guidelines and audit standards.
- Dispute & Collection Coordination: Coordinate closely with the sales team to resolve billing discrepancies and facilitate timely outstanding recoveries.
Requirements
- Education: Successful completion of G.C.E. A/L in the Commerce stream. A full or partial professional qualification in credit management (SICLIM), AAT, CASL, or CIMA is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience in credit control, debt recovery, or financial risk assessment, preferably within a manufacturing or large-scale commercial sector.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel (for data analysis and aging schedules) and hands-on experience working within an ERP finance environment.
- Core Attributes: Uncompromising integrity, strong negotiation and decision-making skills, assertive communication, and a highly structured approach to financial discipline.
