Assistant Manager – Supplier Relationship Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate competitive rates, allocations, and value additions with hotels and key suppliers
  • Develop segment-based contracting strategies across mass, leisure, and luxury markets
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product offerings and improve overall value proposition
  • Drive dynamic pricing and yield strategies based on demand patterns and market trends
  • Support demand planning and forecasting, ensuring the right inventory is secured at the right time
  • Manage end-to-end contracting and ensure accuracy across all systems and distribution platforms
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships
  • Monitor competitor positioning and ensure our product remains competitive across markets
  • Work closely with sales teams to align contracting strategies with market needs and customer expectations
  • Coordinate promotions, tactical offers, and market-specific deals to maximise conversions
  • Ensure compliance, documentation, and smooth operational coordination

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in hotel contracting, procurement, or supplier management within the travel industry
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to adapt approach based on different market segments (mass vs luxury vs niche)
  • Good understanding of demand cycles, seasonality, and inventory planning
  • Strong commercial mindset with focus on profitability, competitiveness, and conversion
  • In-depth knowledge of the Sri Lanka travel market and key destinations
  • Hands-on experience with booking systems, rate loading, and distribution platforms
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Self-driven, analytical, and confident in decision-making
  • A results-driven professional with strong P&L management skills and a solid understanding of technology
