Quantity Surveyor : (MEP Projects Division)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Quantity Surveyor for the MEP Project Division of our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of electrical and MEP projects, including quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, subcontractor management, valuations, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Role Profile
Quantity Surveying & Cost Management
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for MEP works.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow, and cost forecasts.
- Track variations, claims, and change orders.
- Prepare interim payment Applications.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Tendering & Procurement
- Assist in preparation of tender submissions and bid evaluations.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare comparative statements and procurement recommendations.
- Support subcontract preparation, negotiation, and administration.
Contract Administration
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and project specifications.
- Maintain records of site progress, material usage, and contractual correspondence.
- Evaluate sub-contractor claims and payment certificates.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients regarding commercial matters.
Project Coordination
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial updates.
- Monitor work progress against planned quantities and budgets.
- Verify measurements and site work completed.
- Assist in project planning and resource forecasting.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare monthly commercial reports and cost reports.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and filing systems.
- Ensure timely submission of invoices, payment applications, and variation claims.
Personal Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Quantity Surveying/ related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in MEP/electrical construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, MEP services, and construction methodologies.
- Experience with commercial buildings, industrial projects, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards.
- Experience in electrical LV/MV systems, ELV systems, and MEP coordination.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of BOQ preparation and quantity take-offs.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and quantity surveying software.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and project reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercial awareness and contract negotiation capability.
