FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATE

Consultancy Position

Colombo, Sri Lanka

Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin with several country offices worldwide. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies, and the development of democratic institutions worldwide. DRI is currently recruiting a part-time Finance and Administration Associate to support the ongoing EU-funded project “Strengthening Resilience against Disinformation in Sri Lanka”. The Finance and Administration Associate will support the project team and contribute to financial reporting, project administration and procurement.

Under the supervision of the HQ Finance and Controlling Manager, and in close cooperation with the Project Manager, the Finance and Administration Associate will be responsible of following tasks,

Key Responsibilities

  • Support financial reporting, accounting processes, and the maintenance of financial records.
  • Process invoices, payments, and accounting documentation while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate procurement processes, including obtaining quotations, liaising with vendors and supporting contractual arrangements.
  • Support office administration, logistics, asset management, and operational requirements to ensure the smooth functioning of the Sri Lanka office.
  • Assist project partners and subgrantees with financial and administrative processes, including the review of supporting documentation.
  • Support recruitment, personnel administration and records management in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Contribute to compliance with organisational policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, administration, or operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or development organisation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working with international non-governmental organisations or donor-funded programmes.
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly Microsoft Business Central.
  • Knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil.

Engagement Type: Part-time (50%) Consultancy Position

Duration: Five months
