PURCHASING EXECUTIVE

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the purchasing and logistics of raw materials based on the forecast. The role also involves regular communication with foreign suppliers and service providers to ensure the smooth flow of goods and information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end local purchasing operations, including sourcing, ordering and supplier coordination.
- Identify, evaluate and maintain relationships with local suppliers and service providers.
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate prices and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate with vendors to confirm product availability, delivery schedules and order follow-ups.
- Monitor purchase orders and proactively handle any supply issues or delivery delays.
- Support the procurement of raw materials, office supplies, operational items and other locally sourced products.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and approved procedures.
- Analyze pricing, compare quotations and support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Monitor supplier performance, quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases and documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Finance, Stores, Operations and Administration to ensure smooth purchasing operations.
- Assist in inventory coordination and stock replenishment planning when required.
PROFILE
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in import operations.
- Experience in coordinating with international suppliers is essential.
- Familiarity with Sri Lanka Customs procedures, shipping documentation and HS codes.
- Knowledge of BOI regulations will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
