ENGINEER – PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Auto Foam (Pvt) Ltd, a leading manufacturer of automotive seating solutions, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and result-oriented individual to join our team as an Engineer – Product Development.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading product and process development activities related to automotive seating and PU foam manufacturing while working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, continuous improvement, quality excellence, and customer satisfaction. WHAT PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERS DO
- Lead new product development and continuous improvement projects from concept to production implementation.
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and production systems to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Purchasing, and other internal teams to ensure successful execution of development activities.
- Support customer requirements, product launches, engineering changes, and process validation activities.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement practical engineering solutions to reduce waste and improve performance.
- Prepare and maintain technical drawings, product specifications, engineering reports, process documentation, and related records.
- Conduct product testing, evaluation, validation, and process trials to ensure compliance with customer and quality requirements.
- Analyze technical and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables are completed according to agreed schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, ISO/IATF standards, and other applicable quality management systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to production and quality teams during product development and mass production stages.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 02 years of experience in product development within the PU foam or apparel industry, with a strong mechanical engineering background.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments will be a distinct advantage.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or other Quality Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and related quality tools will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar engineering design tools.
- Proven leadership and project coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience in Product Development within the Apparel industry or PU Foaming industry, combined with a Molecular Mechanical Engineering background, will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and technical problem-solving skills.
