Field Officer (Embilipitiya/ Buttala)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
n
n- Assist in carrying out daily field operations including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and harvesting activities.
n- Monitor crop conditions regularly and report any issues related to plant health, pest attacks, diseases, or irrigation requirements.
n- Ensure proper application of fertilizers, agrochemicals, and other agricultural inputs according to company guidelines and safety standards.
n- Conduct routine field inspections and maintain accurate records related to crop growth, field activities, labor attendance, and input usage.
n- Coordinate with supervisors and labor teams to ensure timely completion of assigned field activities.
n- Support implementation of pest and weed control programs to maintain healthy crop production.
n- Monitor water management practices and ensure efficient use of irrigation systems.
n- Ensure compliance with GLOBAL GAP, Sedex, SMETA, and internal SOPs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
n
n- Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma or equivalent qualification in Agriculture / Agronomy / Plantation Management.
n- 1–2 years of experience in plantation/agronomy operations, preferably in fruit crops or orchard management.
n- Data-driven approach with proficiency in MS Office.
