HAYLEYS FABRIC PLC

One of the pioneers in fabric manufacture, situated in Neboda - Horana, is a BOI approved company, listed in the Colombo Stock exchange, is a subsidiary of Hayleys PLC.

We are looking for personnel from the Apparel/Fabric industry in the following category. Remuneration will depend on your experience and is negotiable. As the manufacturing facility is located in Horana, transport facilities are available from Colombo (Hayleys Group Head Office), Katukurunda, Panadura, Bandaragama, Horana, Lewwanduwa, Nagashandiya (Kalutara), Govinna, Bulathsinhla and Agalawatta to Factory in Neboda.

MANAGER – HEALTH & SAFETY

We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and experienced Manager – Health & Safety to lead and oversee Health, Safety, and Fire Prevention operations across Hayleys Fabric PLC (Neboda) and South Asia Textiles (Pugoda).

This is a critical leadership role focused on maintaining and enhancing the organization’s commitment to health, safety, and fire prevention in a textile/manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage Fire Safety systems, emergency preparedness, and emergency response programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations and international standards, including Nike, SLCP, and SMETA requirements.
  • Oversee critical safety management systems such as Work Permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and Contractor Safety.
  • Conduct and lead risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen the organization’s safety culture.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification (preferred).
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a similar Health & Safety leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH and/or IOSH will be considered a distinct advantage.
  • Exposure to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ZDHC, multi-site operations, and global compliance standards such as NIKE CLS and Disney ILS.
  • Strong technical expertise in Fire Safety systems, including sprinklers, hydrants, fire detection, and emergency response mechanisms.
