Position

We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to lead and strengthen our workplace health, safety, and compliance initiatives. Applications are invited for the position of Manager – Health & Safety.

The selected candidate will provide strategic oversight of health, safety, and regulatory compliance across our production facilities in Seeduwa, Kalutara, and Kandy, ensuring consistent implementation of policies and best practices. The role based in Seeduwa requires regular travel to various work locations in the island to monitor and enforce safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with national occupational health & safety regulations, excise requirements, and environmental standards applicable to liquor manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification across production, warehousing, engineering and support areas.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans.
  • Organize and conduct safety training programs, fire drills, and emergency preparedness activities.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain statutory safety records, permits, and liaison with regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure availability, proper use, and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a manufacturing organization is mandatory (Preferably in Food and Beverage sector).
  • Sound knowledge of occupational health & safety standards, chemical handling, flammable materials, and machinery safety.
  • Strong communication, training, and problem-solving skills.
  • First Aid and Fire Safety certifications will be an added advantage.
