To strengthen our sourcing and quality assurance activities in South Asia, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Supplier Quality, Sourcing & Export Compliance Manager to represent our business interests on-site in Sri Lanka and neighboring sourcing regions.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will serve as our local operational representative, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, supplier performance, and export readiness throughout the supply chain.

This role requires a strong scientific background, extensive experience in supplier auditing and quality assurance, and the ability to independently manage supplier relationships while protecting the company's interests and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Assurance & Compliance
    • Conduct audits of suppliers, production facilities, and processing sites.
    • Verify product specifications, packaging materials, labels, batch coding, and shipping marks.
    • Ensure full compliance with customer requirements and private label specifications.
    • Monitor adherence to Organic, HACCP, IFS, BRCGS, and other relevant certification standards.
    • Supervise pre-shipment inspections and container loading operations.
    • Prepare detailed inspection reports supported by photographic and video evidence.
    • Identify non-conformities and coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Supplier Performance Management
    • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, lead times, pricing, transparency, and operational performance.
    • Develop supplier scorecards and conduct ongoing performance reviews.
    • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvement initiatives.
    • Monitor operational risks and escalate critical issues promptly.
    • Build strong, professional relationships while maintaining independent oversight.
  • Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development
    • Identify, assess, and qualify alternative suppliers and manufacturing partners.
    • Develop contingency sourcing strategies and backup supplier networks.
    • Support cost optimization, quality improvements, and supply chain resilience.
    • Contribute to long-term sourcing strategies and supplier development programs.

Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Solid knowledge of Organic Certification, HACCP, IFS, BRCGS, and international quality management systems.
  • Proven experience in supplier auditing, quality assurance, quality control, private label manufacturing, export operations, or procurement.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, independence, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make objective decisions in the company's best interests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience within Sri Lankan or South Asian supplier networks.
  • Experience in organic products, food ingredients, edible oils, cosmetics, or related industries.
  • Procurement and strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience managing multiple suppliers across different locations.
