Group Internal Auditor
Office Location : Ja-ela / Kerawalapitiya / Colombo
We are seeking a forward-thinking individual to join a leading manufacturing group in Sri Lanka as Group Internal Auditor to safeguard our assets, optimize our processes, and ensure robust compliance across all our business units. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with Finance & Auditing experience who is passionate about carrying out internal finance, operational and process audits. The selected candidate will work closely with the Managing Director and the Group Finance Team to drive operational excellence and support strategic business initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Operational & Financial Audits: Plan and execute risk-based audits across multiple manufacturing plants and corporate functions, focusing on inventory accuracy, procurement, production cycles, and cost accounting.
- Internal Controls Assessment: Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and identify control gaps.
- Process Optimization: Analyze manufacturing workflows, waste management, and supply chain logistics to recommend cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Fraud & Compliance Risk: Assess compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, safety protocols, and internal corporate policies.
- Reporting & Insights: Draft clear, concise, and actionable audit reports for senior leadership. Track the implementation of management’s corrective action plans.
- Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools to extract and analyze large datasets from our ERP system to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Full/Part qualification in CA
- Minimum 2 years of experience in handling internal & external audits in a reputed audit firm
- Direct experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of internal auditing standards, GAAP/IFRS, and manufacturing cost-accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and data analysis tools
- Exceptional analytical skills and a high degree of integrity, and communication skills
- Team orientation and ability to work effectively with other internal customers
- Exceptional inter-personal and conceptual thinking skills.
- Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Visio.
