Head of Cutting & Fabric Utilization
As the Head of Cutting & Fabric Utilization, the selected candidate will take a leadership role in overseeing day-to-day cutting department operations, with a strong focus on fabric efficiency, cutting accuracy, and material utilization. They will be responsible for driving operational excellence in cutting processes, ensuring optimal fabric consumption and minimal wastage, coordinating closely with production and planning teams, and developing systems and procedures that support sustainable productivity and performance within the cutting and fabric utilization function.
Our Requirements are...
- Lead and manage the Cutting and Fabric Utilization functions to ensure operational excellence.
- Develop and implement fabric utilization strategies to minimize wastage and optimize fabric consumption.
- Monitor marker efficiency and cutting performance to achieve company targets.
- Coordinate with Planning, Production, Merchandising, Industrial Engineering, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.
- Ensure timely fabric allocation and cutting according to the production schedule.
- Analyze fabric consumption reports and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.
- Train, mentor, and develop the cutting and fabric utilization teams.
- Prepare and present operational reports and KPIs to management.
Required Knowledge & Skills...
- Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in the apparel manufacturing industry, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or leadership role in Cutting, Fabric Utilization, or Production.
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, fabric utilization techniques, marker planning, and cutting operations.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing departmental performance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
