Role Overview
As Laundry Supervisor, you will oversee the daily laundry operation to ensure the timely and efficient processing of guest garments, staff uniforms, and hotel linen while maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene. You will supervise the laundry team, coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service, monitor operational efficiency, and help maintain a safe, well organized working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the laundry to ensure timely and efficient processing of guest, staff, and hotel linen.
- Allocate duties, monitor team performance, and provide guidance to laundry attendants.
- Ensure all laundry procedures are carried out in accordance with company standards and hygiene requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure linen and guest garments are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards.
- Monitor the use of laundry chemicals, equipment, and utilities to minimise wastage and maximise efficiency.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure linen availability and prompt service.
- Maintain accurate records of linen inventory, uniforms, guest laundry, and daily operational reports.
- Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with the engineering department for timely maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within the laundry operation.
- Train, coach, and motivate team members while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a hotel or resort laundry operation.
- Sound knowledge of commercial laundry equipment, fabric care, stain removal, and laundry chemicals.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage a team and perform effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy and experience in maintaining operational records.
- A positive attitude with a strong commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.
