Education Programme Facilitator – 1 Position.

The vacancy - CMT is looking to fill the position of Education Programme Facilitator to facilitate the promotion and delivery of its education programme. CMT works with selected schools and through hubs in Thellipplalai (Vali North Division) and Moor Street in Jaffna town with a focus on improving English language skills, enhancing literacy, promoting digital learning and encouraging self-directed learning practices.

Role and Responsibility – Managing the education program of CMT including the coordination of volunteer teachers, administration of the hub centers and liaising with school communities, parents and resource persons.

Salary Range – LKR 65,000/- (Negotiable depending on experience and skills)

Start on or before 1st September 2026

The roles will be based in Thellipplalai and, Jaffna town. It will require flexibility willingness to travel regularly to other areas in the Northern Province and occasionally other parts of the country. The role will require the candidate to be appreciative of diversity, committed to facilitation as an approach, proactive about inclusion and in a non-hierarchical manner. The role requires the following

  • The candidate should be comfortable interacting with a variety of stakeholders; including children of all ages, school leavers, teachers, parents and all members of the school and educational communities.
  • Willingness to spend significant time interacting with students and communities in the field and a willingness to work in resource constrained environment and travel on public transport and motorcycle is essential.
  • Strong skills in managing and coordinating programs and have strong communication and organizational skills. Analytical thinking and understanding setting and achieving Goals, objectives and developing activities for the program.
  • Assisting program design and frame works, Interest in developing a reflective mindset - producing verbal and written reflections throughout the process. Preparing regular monthly, annual progress reports and relevant reports if required.
  • Interacting with local and regional education authorities for collaborative actions and the formal approvals.
  • Facilitating school management committees (SMC) and conducting outreach to increase parental involvement and student retention.
  • Collaborating with other relevant institutions, agencies and civil society groups to maximize impact.
  • Understanding experience of educational programmes in the NGO sector and program management will be given due weightage.
  • Computer literacy and fluency in Tamil are essential along with a working knowledge of English (spoken and written). Sinhala language will also be an advantage
