VACANCY – QUANTITY SURVEYOR (QS)
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our CIDA EM1 registered engineering company.

Schaubup Technik Pvt Ltd is a EM1 graded company, in category of Heavy Steel Fabrications. We are specialized in Turnkey Projects, linear production of steel fabrications, machinery and equipment maintenance, Steel formworks structures. We have over 100 clients islandwide and we provide Value Engineering solutions.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Quantity Surveyor is a full-time, on-site role based in Colombo. This role involves preparing and analyzing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), monitoring project costs, and supporting cost planning from inception through completion.
The Quantity Surveyor will manage cost reporting, assist in tender preparation and evaluation, and work closely with Engineering manager, project engineers, Workshop managers to ensure accurate financial control.
ALLOCATED TASKS
- Daily tasks include updating cost forecasts, verifying contractor claims, and preparing periodic financial progress reports (monthly, quarterly and annually). The role also requires maintaining clear documentation, participating in site meetings where applicable, and contributing to value engineering assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in BOQ preparation, measurement, and quantification for construction and engineering projects.
- Proficiency in cost control and cost management to monitor budgets, expenditures, and financial performance.
- Experience in cost planning and cost reporting, including forecasting, variance analysis, and periodic financial summaries.
- Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with industry-standard QS software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, contracts, and specifications.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
- BSc / NDT / Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Sound knowledge of Steel Fabrication & MEP Works
- Experience in Tendering & Estimation
- Ability to participate in tender pre-bid meetings & site visits
- Experience in Invoice preparation & labour cost estimation
- Preparation of job-wise material requisitions
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks will be an added advantage
WORKING HOURS
Monday – Friday: 8.00 AM – 5.00 PM
Saturday: 8.00 AM – 1.00 PM
LOCATION
Bakery Junction, Attidiya, Mount Lavinia (Fabrication Yard at Bakery Junction)
WHAT WE OFFER
- Attractive salary package between Rs. 80,000 – 110,000.00
- Preference will be given to candidates residing near Dehiwala / Ratmalana area.
