Senior Manager – Finance
The Senior Manager – Financial & Regulatory Reporting is responsible for leading and overseeing the Bank's Financial Reporting function, including standalone and consolidated financial statements, ensuring their accuracy, completeness, and integrity. The role ensures compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory and statutory requirements, and internal policies, while delivering high-quality financial and regulatory reports within agreed timelines. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining a robust financial control environment, driving continuous improvements in financial reporting processes, and providing strategic support to senior management, regulators, auditors, and other key stakeholders.
THE JOB
- Lead the preparation and timely submission of the Bank and Group financial statements, ensuring full compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Oversee the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, ensuring the successful completion of external audits, publication of annual reports, and all regulatory reporting within stipulated deadlines.
- Liaise with professional accounting firms, external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure the timely adoption and implementation of new or revised accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and statutory obligations impacting the Bank’s financial reporting framework.
- Drive the implementation of changes arising from new accounting standards by ensuring the alignment of financial reporting processes, IT systems, financial statements, disclosures, and related reporting frameworks.
- Provide strategic oversight of the Bank's General Ledger, ensuring its integrity, accuracy, and compliance with applicable accounting standards while supporting business line and management reporting requirements.
- Lead financial performance analysis by conducting variance, trend, and gap analyses, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to support executive management and strategic decision-making.
- Continuously enhance the quality, transparency, and effectiveness of financial statement disclosures and annual report in line with evolving regulatory expectations and best practices.
- Lead and coordinate all internal and external audits relating to Financial and Regulatory Reporting, ensuring the timely provision of information, effective resolution of audit queries, implementation of audit recommendations, and compliance with all audit requirements.
- Ensure strong governance, internal controls, and risk management practices within the Financial Reporting function while maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, regulators, and other professional bodies.
THE PERSON
- Be an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) or possess an equivalent internationally recognized professional qualification in Accounting or Financial Reporting.
- Possess a minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in Financial Reporting, Accounting, or Regulatory Reporting, including at least 3 years in a managerial capacity within the banking or financial services sector.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS), Banking Act Directions, CBSL regulations, Basel guidelines, and other statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to banks.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Possess strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to effectively engage with regulators, external auditors, senior management, and other key stakeholders.
- Be proficient in financial reporting, General Ledger (GL) management, and Microsoft Office applications, with exposure to ERP or core banking systems being an added advantage.
