ASSISTANT KEY ACCOUNTS MANAGER - MODERN TRADE
Samson Trading Company (Pvt) Ltd, a progressive member of the DSI Samson Group, is the group's key trading arms focused on driving business diversification and growth. We are planning to expand into modern retail and general trade markets in Sri Lanka with a growing portfolio of leading brands. We are looking for a dynamic professional to lead our Modern Trade operations, driving both strategic growth and operational field excellence and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop modern trade strategies to achieve revenue, distribution, market share, and profitability targets.
- Manage key accounts and modern trade partners, including negotiations, product listings, promotions, and joint business plans (JBPs).
- Execute trade promotions, ensuring in-store visibility, merchandising standards, and planogram compliance across outlets.
- Monitor sales performance, stock levels, and sell-through, ensuring timely replenishment to avoid stock-outs and overstocking.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and on-time deliveries.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and promotional effectiveness to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports for management review and decision-making.
Personal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in Modern Trade field sales, preferably within retail and trading.
- Strong knowledge of Modern Trade channels, retail operations, and distribution.
- Good in Sales Planning and Key Account Management.
- Proven track record of handling Key Accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Experience in managing small teams (e.g., Merchandisers and Sales Assistants).
- Exposure to Promotional Campaigns and Retail Negotiations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinker with operational execution capability and adaptability to dynamic retail environments.
