Duryog Nivaran Network, established in 1995, is a South Asian network focused on disaster mitigation through research, training, advocacy, and policy dialogues. The network's mission is to strengthen national and regional organizations in South Asia, promoting effective disaster risk reduction (DRR) activities and shaping global discussions on DRR.
Job Purpose
To provide comprehensive financial and administrative support to the Duryog Nivaran team. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with donor and statutory regulations, and supporting the smooth financial and administrative operation of the organization. This role is critical for ensuring the financial integrity and effective implementation of Duryog Nivaran's disaster risk reduction and climate resilience initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks and spreadsheets.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and financial reports, including Donor reporting.
- Manage petty cash and ensure proper documentation.
- Process payments, invoices, and receipts, ensuring timely data entry.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, internal policies, and local regulations.
- Monitor staff advances, settlements, and related journal entries.
- Maintain organized filing of staff, consultant, donor, and subgrant contracts to ensure audit readiness.
- Handle tax matters, EPF/ETF, contracts, and statutory filings.
- Process payments through online banking and cheques.
- Assist with supplier quotations, banking tasks, and DFCC Bank digital platform work.
- Provide general administrative support to the other Departments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business or partially qualified in CA/CIMA/ACCA
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.
