ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Front Office to join Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts is Sri Lanka's largest hotel owner with a portfolio of 16 Hotels and Resorts in both Sri Lanka and Maldives including the US$ 1.4 Billion investment in Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the administration of all housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, staff areas, and uniforms.
  • Ensure the highest standards of hygiene, safety, comfort, and aesthetics are consistently maintained.
  • Lead housekeeping projects, programs, and training initiatives as required.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for departmental, interdepartmental, and guest-related communication.
  • Conduct regular spot checks to ensure housekeeping colleagues maintain established standards.
  • Assess training and development needs of housekeeping colleagues and provide appropriate guidance.
  • Facilitate the training and development of all housekeeping team members.
  • Review training outcomes and identify future development needs in collaboration with the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Conduct classroom training, on-the-job training, and corrective coaching sessions.
  • Ensure Housekeeping Attendants are fully trained and perform according to departmental standards.
  • Promote awareness of the organization's Quality Policy, Vision, and Mission among all team members.
  • Ensure compliance with and support for the hotel's Quality Management System.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other departments to achieve operational requirements and service standards.
  • Manage daily housekeeping operations efficiently to deliver exceptional guest service in line with established standards.
  • Inspect VIP rooms prior to guest arrival and throughout their stay.
  • Conduct regular inspections of occupied and vacant rooms to ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure key control procedures are followed, including end-of-shift key checks in accordance with company policy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role at a five-star property.
  • A Diploma in Hospitality Management would be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, HACCP, Health & Safety practices, ISO/Quality standards, and laundry operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team leadership abilities.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
