Senior Manager – GL Reconciliation and Monitoring
We invite applications from highly motivated and accomplished individuals for the position of “Senior Manager – GL Reconciliation and Monitoring” in Finance Department
Key Responsibilities
- GL reconciliation:
- Maintain up to date GL reconciliation policy/ procedure in line with regulatory requirements/ industry best practices to mitigate risk with relevant approvals.
- Ensure all GL accounts are reconciled and are in compliance with the GL Reconciliation Policy and Procedures of the Bank.
- Ensure independent reconciliation of GL accounts under the responsibility of the Unit based on risk-based prioritization: critical GL accounts, particularly suspense accounts, transit accounts and zero-balance expectation accounts on daily basis and reconciliation of other GL accounts minimum of monthly basis.
- Ensure the identification and follow up on system imbalances, inter-branch imbalances, unusual or abnormal balances and long outstanding balances to clear them on time.
- Ensure explanations and confirmations from relevant stakeholders are obtained, challenge unsupported explanations and notify relevant Business Units/ Departments for corrective actions.
- Escalate unresolved balances beyond defined timelines, root causes, potential risks in accordance with the approved escalation framework.
- Monitor aging of outstanding items, maturity and ensure timely resolution of high-risk variances
- Prepare and present monthly MIS, exception reports and findings to the Management
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail are maintained.
- Identify recurring reconciliation issues and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Perform analytical reviews to identify unusual transactions and abnormal debit/credit balances.
- Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 7 years of overall experience, including 5 years in a finance functions
- Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger (GL) reconciliations, financial controls, governance, and risk management.
- Proven ability to manage complex reconciliation exceptions, drive process improvements, and support automation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management capabilities, with the confidence to engage effectively with Senior Management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of financial systems and data management.
- Added Advantages:
- Knowledge of banking products and operations.
- Experience in RPA, process automation, and business process re-engineering.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and other data analytics tools.
