GENERAL MANAGER – FERTILIZER TRADING
We are seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, and self-motivated individual to join our team as General Manager - Fertilizer Trading.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing bulk fertilizers (Urea, DAP, MOP) from key global markets.
- Managing shipping, clearance, island-wide distribution, and warehousing.
- Hedging commodity price risks and navigating foreign exchange fluctuations in order to maintain the procurement costs.
- Adhering to the regulations set by the National Fertilizer Secretariat (NFS) and the Ministry of Agriculture and or other applicable regulations in Sri Lanka.
- Participate in government tenders for fertilizer procurement - called by the Ministry of Agriculture and related institutions.
- Good understanding of the private market and island-wide distribution of fertilizer.
Qualification and Experience
- Outstanding personality.
- Should have at least over 10 years of experience in the industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the fields of agriculture, chemistry and fertilizer are mandatory.
- Previous working experience in similar role or capacity is essential.
An ideal candidate should have the required academic knowledge as well as the industry experience, such that a fertilizer importing and trading team could be lead.
