SENIOR MERCHANDISER
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Senior Merchandiser at CARNAGE. The Merchandiser will be responsible for planning and selecting a range of products to sell in our stores or online. They will collaborate closely with buyers, analysts, and suppliers to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery timescales. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and sales data to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate a compelling assortment of merchandise based on market trends, customer preferences, and sales data.
- Monitor inventory levels and make informed decisions on stock replenishment and markdowns to optimize sales and minimize excess inventory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms of agreements to achieve competitive pricing and favorable payment terms.
- Assist in preparing budgets and sales forecasts based on historical data and market trends.
- Work closely with the visual merchandising team to ensure products are displayed in an attractive manner that maximizes sales.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to stay informed about current fashion trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop promotional strategies and set competitive pricing based on market research and financial goals.
- Generate reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and product performance to management on a regular basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of proven experience as a Merchandiser or in a similar role within the retail industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market reports.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with merchandising software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Retail).
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for product assortment and visual presentation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally for supplier meetings or industry events.
