FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

As a rapidly expanding export-oriented manufacturing company, we continuously invest in innovation, technology, and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded, and strategically focused Financial Controller to lead our Finance Division. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, strengthening governance, supporting business expansion, and partnering with senior management in strategic decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the Finance and Accounts Department, providing leadership, mentoring, and professional development to the finance team.
- Oversee all financial management, accounting, reporting, and treasury functions of the company.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (SLFRS/LKAS) and statutory requirements.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support business growth.
- Develop, implement, and continually improve internal controls, financial policies, governance frameworks, and risk management practices.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Prepare management reports, board papers, financial dashboards, and KPIs to support executive decision-making.
- Analyze business performance, profitability, product costing, customer margins, and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee manufacturing costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Inland Revenue, VAT, Customs, BOI (where applicable), Companies Act, Exchange Control regulations, and statutory obligations.
- Lead ERP and financial systems improvements, digitalization initiatives, and process automation projects.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, investment opportunities, and expansion projects through financial modelling and feasibility analysis.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE
- Full Professional Qualification in Chartered Accountancy (CA Sri Lanka). MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, taxation, internal controls, and corporate governance.
- Experience managing banking relationships, trade finance facilities, working capital financing, and foreign currency transactions.
- Knowledge of manufacturing costing, inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
