ABOUT PMO SPECIALIST PRIVATE LIMITED
PMO Specialist Private Limited is a specialist remote project management office headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We provide dedicated, UK-hours-aligned project and engineering professionals to clients in the United Kingdom and Europe, working across the construction, infrastructure, M&E, and maintenance sectors.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a qualified and experienced MEP Project Engineer to join our growing team in Colombo. Working remotely for UK and European construction and infrastructure clients, you will provide technical engineering support across the full project lifecycle — from design coordination and programme monitoring through to site progress reporting and close-out documentation.
You will work UK business hours (GMT/BST), fluent in English, and proficient in the software tools used by our UK clients. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious engineer to build international project experience from Sri Lanka.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical engineering support across M&E, or multidisciplinary construction projects for UK and European clients
- Review and interpret design drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
- Produce and maintain technical documentation including method statements, risk assessments, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and technical submittals
- Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and client representatives on technical queries and RFIs (Requests for Information)
- Support procurement activities including technical evaluation of subcontractor and supplier submissions
- Maintain accurate project registers including drawing registers, RFI logs, action trackers, and risk registers
- Participate in project meetings via video conference with UK and European teams
- Support the preparation of close-out documentation, as-built records, and lessons learned reports
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience in a project engineering role on construction, infrastructure, or M&E projects
- Experience working on projects governed by international standards (BS EN, Eurocodes, or equivalent) is highly advantageous
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) working towards MICE, MIStructE, MCIBSE, or equivalent — or actively working towards chartership — is desirable but not essential
TECHNICAL SKILLS & SOFTWARE
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite — Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (advanced Excel essential)
- Drawing review and mark-up: Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat, or AutoCAD Viewer
- Document management: experience with Common Data Environments (CDE) such as Aconex, Viewpoint 4Projects, BIM 360, Procore, or similar
- Video conferencing: Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Experience with BIM processes and IFC model review is advantageous
