ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) EXECUTIVE
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify environmental hazards, health risks, and safety concerns in the workplace.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of environmental responsibility, health awareness, and safety excellence throughout the organization.
- Provide EHS training and education for employees, contractors, and visitors to ensure understanding of EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor air quality, water quality, waste management, and hazardous materials handling to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Maintain records of environmental monitoring data, safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and emergency responders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and facilitate emergency response planning.
- Stay informed about emerging environmental, health, and safety trends, regulations, & technologies, and communicate relevant information to management and employees.
- Support sustainability initiatives, energy conservation efforts, and pollution prevention programs to minimize environmental impact & promote corporate social responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- 4 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar certification is desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
