VACANCY: Accountant

Location: Kandana

We are a well- established manufacturing company seeking a young, dynamic, and results – oriented Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about finance, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting the company's financial operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain day-to-day accounting records, journal entries, and general ledger transactions.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan Accounting Standards (SLFRS) and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and facilitate audit activities.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and proper documentation of financial records.
  • Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.
  • Support tax compliance activities, including VAT, EPF/ETF, and Inland Revenue requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Part-qualified CA Sri Lanka, CIMA, or ACCA candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Sound knowledge of Sri Lankan tax regulations, including IRD requirements, VAT, EPF and ETF.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and accounting software—such as ERP, Tally, or Sage.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Age between 25 to 40 years
  • Good communication skills in both English and Sinhala
  • Honest, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capable of working independently and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
