SENIOR ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVE – STOCK & IMPORTS/EXPORTS
Jayananda Associates (Pvt) Ltd, a well-established company engaged in the importation and distribution of motorcycle spare parts and related products, is looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Executive with mandatory hands-on experience in stock/inventory management and import & export operations, to join our Colombo-based team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead end-to-end import & export operations — shipping, freight coordination and Customs clearance
- Prepare and verify import/export documentation — LCs,
- Liaise directly with shipping lines, clearing agents and Sri Lanka Customs
- Manage import costing, Customs duty and landed-cost calculations
- Maintain accurate stock records and monitor daily stock movements
- Handle stock receiving, issuing, transfers and adjustments
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with system records
- Maintain accounting records — invoices, receipts, payments, ledger entries
- Handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and supplier/customer reconciliations
- Guide and review the work of junior stock and accounts staff
- Perform other duties assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- AAT, CIMA, ACCA or other accounting qualification (part-qualified considered)
- Minimum 3-5 years' senior-level experience in Accounts, with mandatory exposure to Stock/Inventory and Import & Export operations
- Sound working knowledge of LCs, INCOTERMS, shipping and Customs documentation
- Proven experience in stock control, inventory reconciliation and landed-cost costing
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/inventory software
- Based in or around Colombo
KEY SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of import/export procedures and Sri Lanka Customs regulations
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with sharp attention to detail
- Confident liaising with shipping lines, clearing agents and suppliers
- Ability to lead, guide and review the work of junior staff
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
