WE’RE HIRING – ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
Location – Panadura
Packaging Materials (Pvt) Ltd is a leading flexible-packaging manufacturer in Sri Lanka, proudly serving a diverse portfolio of local and multinational clients. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and responsible Assistant Accountant to join our growing Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and accounting schedules, including schedules for fixed assets, deposits, bad debts, salaries and audits.
- Maintain accounting journals and general ledger accounts, including salaries, depreciation, gratuity, insurance, exchange differences, accruals and provisions.
- Assist with work-in-progress accounting and the accurate allocation of production costs.
- Review customer credit limits and approve sales orders according to company procedures.
- Verify prices, invoices, gate passes and loading records before approving the release of goods.
- Review and authorise petty-cash payments and reconcile petty-cash balances with the general ledger.
- Assist with external audits and liaise with banks, auditors, customers, suppliers and the ERP service provider.
- Carry out other finance-related duties assigned by management.
The Ideal Candidate
- Diploma, higher diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Part qualification in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA or AAT is an advantage
- Two to three years of relevant accounting experience
- Manufacturing-sector experience would be an added advantage
- Knowledge of accounting systems, ERP software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, accurately and meet deadlines
- Preferably residing in or close to the Panadura or Moratuwa area
