ASSISTANT MANAGER – RISK AND CONTROL
Location: Welisara
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct routine Internal Audits (financial, operational and compliance) and special audits by gathering data, performing testing and verifying records.
- Prepare and organize audit workpapers, work programs, checklists and other relevant documentation.
- Prepare Internal/ Special Audit reports and make recommendations for management action.
- Assist in preparation of the Risk Registers
- Review adherence with company policies and procedures and document amendments to the existing procedures where necessary.
- Analyze business processes and provide value addition by identifying gaps, opportunities for operational improvements, reduce waste and strengthen internal controls.
- Identify non-compliance with statutory requirements and other regulatory framework and areas for improvement.
- Carry out follow up audits on previously reported audit findings and ensure proper implementation of recommendations.
- Work in collaboration with Internal Auditors (outsourced at present), Staff and External Auditors (as and when required), to ensure a smooth audit process.
Ideal Candidate:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or related discipline from a recognized University.
- Part/ Full qualification in Chartered Accountancy of CA Sri Lanka or equivalent from a recognized accounting or auditing body.
- Minimum 4 – 5 years’ experience in Internal and External Audit
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in English and Sinhala (both spoken and written) and strong communication skills
- Data analysis skills (Excel / Power BI)
- Knowledge of Auditing Standards, Internal Controls and Risk Management.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience in working in an ERP environment would be an added advantage.
